Aftercare

It is crucial to provide clear and comprehensive aftercare advice to your clients after each treatment. It is recommended to give the advice in writing and include recommendations for any retail products that may benefit the clients. This ensures that the client gets the most out of the treatment and maintains its effects for longer.

Aftercare is essential to prevent any sensitivity or adverse reactions after the client leaves your treatment room. You should offer accurate and constructive advice and explanations, tailored to each client’s needs based on the treatment they have received. Make sure the client understands the aftercare instructions and provide a written explanation for clarity.

Encourage clients to ask questions about their treatment, skin, and aftercare, and ensure that they have plenty of opportunities to do so. Once the treatment is completed, it’s important to explain to your client the products used during the treatment and why they were used. You can then recommend suitable products for the client to use at home and provide guidance on their full home-care routine. If your skincare supplier provides samples, you can offer them to your client, but make sure to explain how and when to use each product. It is also vital to advise your client on any adverse reactions that may occur after the treatment or when using home-care products.

Outline what they are, how to prevent them, and what to do if they occur. Additionally, let your client know what products they can and cannot use immediately after the treatment. Some general guidelines include no makeup for 24 hours, avoiding steam or sauna for 24 hours, not touching the treated area for 24 hours, using sunscreen, and avoiding waxing for 24-48 hours.
