• The speeds that the file can rotate at – it should have a range between 0 – 20,000/30,000rpm (revolutions per minute)
• The speed control should be easy to use
• The e-file should be quiet and produce no vibrations
• The hand piece should have a quick release function
• There should be a left and right handed reverse button
• A hand piece which does not weigh too much is preferable
