Introduction to Efile

Introduction

• Using an E-file speeds up artificial nail treatments saving you time and meaning you can fit more clients in, maximizing profit • Hard to reach areas are easily accessible with an Efile • Reduced chance of repetitive strain injuries (which can be caused by manual filing) • Reshaping the nail and removing bulk are much easier and quicker • Callouses and thick toe nails can be dealt with effectively when using the correct drill bit

E-file uses
E-files are useful when completing a wide range of processes commonly carried out by nail technicians.
• Removing bulk or length from an artificial nail: efiles are particularly effective at speeding up these activities which would take far longer with a manual file.
• Tidying up under the free edge of the artificial nail enhancement: this is a hard to reach area which the e-file gives you access to.
• Refining the shape of the overlay: this prepares the nail to be buffed which is often the last stage of the treatment

  • Buffing the overlay: the least coarse attachments of your e-file are ideal for buffing the overlay until it shines. However, some nail technicians consider manual files to be quicker for this part of the treatment.
  • Nail art: some nail technicians who are experienced with their e-file have special attachments which they are able to use to shape, cut and finish nail art designs.
  •  Pedicures: hard, calloused skin can be removed from the feet with the correct attachment

• Soak-off gel overlay removal: to remove gel overlays you need to scratch their surface before you can soak them off, an e-file can scratch into the surface quickly.
• Natural nail filing: Highly trained and experienced efile users can use them on the natural nails, to tidy up the cuticles and prepare the nail for gel polish treatment among other processes.

Please note that these processes should only be attempted by nail technicians with years of practice in e-filing. This course will not teach you these techniques
